Peden Stadium has always been a popular spot for folks around the Athens, OH area to congregate in the fall to cheer on their Bobcats football team. The main focus has been the action on the field with some elements of entertainment (including one of the nations best marching bands). What was missing, however, was a high quality video experience to bring fans closer to the action. The challenge was to maximize the available budget while providing the best quality product.
Visua manufactured and installed a high resolution SMD VisuaLED display utilizing best-in-quality Nichia lamps. The 21' x 37' display has a total of 270,336 SMD 3-in-1 LED lamps on borderless cabinets. Visua utilized the existing brick structure to frame and mount the display. To enhance the video experience a MotionRocket LaunchPad and NewTek TriCaster 3Play 440 were provided to play graphics, zone the board, and show instant replays. Visua also provided on-site support for the first season.
A buzz has formed around Peden Stadium as fans are seen more engaged in the entertainment and brought closer to the action. If you attend a Bobcats football game you might find yourself shown on the videoboard during one of the many fan engagement elements. Sponsorship sales have also been increased as more inventory is available utilizing the unique zones of the board.
