Lakeland and Visua partner to enhance the fan experience with a major broadcast upgrade at the Tiger's Stadium.

PDF Version

In 2024, Visua worked with the Lakeland Flying Tigers to renovate and create an innovative solution aimed at enhancing their broadcast for both the Detroit Tigers’ MLB Spring Training games and the Lakeland Flying Tigers regular season games, serving a dual purpose. This install project promises that the fans of the Tigers’ franchise will enjoy an elevated game experience, both in the stadium and at home.

THE CHALLENGE

Lakeland faced the challenge of aligning with the league's new requirements, and Visua was the company capable of meeting all MiLB standards. The project had to be completed before both the Detroit Tigers' Spring Training and the Lakeland Flying Tigers' Opening Day. Extensive planning went into the stadium's layout execution. Visua collaborated closely with the Tigers' team to ensure everything was ready for the season and preseason at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium.

THE SOLUTION

To deliver the finest broadcast experience to the fans in Lakeland and meet all necessary standards, Visua curated a creative solution. They installed 3 PTZ cameras, a follow camera, and six player development cameras strategically throughout the ballpark. In total, there are 10 cameras in operation, with only two being manually operated by on-site employees. Visua also installed a home plate wide shot, a close-up pitcher camera and a variety of other cameras to ensure that all game play and entertainment elements can be captured for the fans.

THE RESULTS

The Tigers recognized the necessity for upgrades to their production facilities ahead of the 2024 season, and Visua emerged as the company capable of seamlessly integrating these enhancements in time for Spring Training and Opening Day. Each piece of equipment was meticulously planned and installed to ensure an enjoyable fan experience for everyone. Visua successfully optimized the Tigers’ time and resources, improving efficiency for staff and crafting a more fan-friendly stream. The new cameras left Lakeland with a simpler gameday broadcast setup with benefits for the organization for years to come.
