PDF VersionIn 2019, the Lake Elsinore Storm was looking to completely revamp the audiovisual technology in their stadium. The Storm chose Visua for their turnkey solution, allowing them to handle all audiovisual technology needs in one comprehensive package, rather than through multiple companies. The solution streamlined the upgrade process through product consistency and universal technical support, both of which were important in the midst of a global pandemic.
Visua's installation for the Lake Elsinore Storm posed several challenges, including the extensive scope of the project. Upgrading the control room, installing two outfield videoboards, a digital signage system, multiple bar displays, and an audio system required meticulous planning and coordination to ensure cohesive operation through one system. Simplifying the technology was crucial to enable stadium staff to operate the equipment with ease. The ongoing pandemic presented further complications, including equipment delays, travel restrictions, and budget limitations. Despite these challenges, Visua remained dedicated to providing efficient and cost-effective upgrades to the stadium.
Visua's solution to the challenge of upgrading the control room and audio-visual systems for a minor league baseball stadium included a comprehensive install of new technology throughout the stadium, with the highlight being the install of two new video boards. The state-of-the-art video boards were strategically placed in left and right fields, providing fans with clear views of the game from any stadium seat and significantly boosting fan engagement. In addition to the video boards, Visua installed cutting-edge broadcast production technology, such as NewTek Tricaster and NewTek 3Play, and over 60 JBL speakers to enhance the audio experience for fans. To simplify game day operations, Visua installed audio and video racks for easy organization of the new systems, confidence monitors for video display monitoring, and a mixer for the cohesive operation of the new sound system. Installing over 30 digital signage displays allowed vendors to showcase menu items, in-house sponsorships, and game broadcasts. Despite pandemic-caused delays, Visua was able to create a new installation plan that adhered to COVID regulations while also being ready in time for the return of baseball.
Visua's upgrades had a significant impact on the efficiency of game day operations, allowing for faster equipment that is simpler to use. The updated audio and video racks in the control room provided increased organization, while the newer audio system and two new videoboards increased fan engagement. These videoboards allowed fans to see game information from anywhere in the stadium and provided higher quality content, improving the overall fan experience. The updated equipment not only reduced maintenance costs but also provided a higher quality audiovisual experience. The installation of two videoboards, instead of one, doubled sponsorship capabilities and increased the brand image of the stadium facilities, making them more attractive to potential sponsors. Additionally, the digital signage took the fan experience to the next level by providing uniquely presented game and venue information that was both brand-specific and engaging. Overall, Visua's upgrades helped the stadium to run more smoothly and provided a better experience for both fans and sponsors.
